My name is Liam Lander and I have been a practicing photography artist since my begining of my tertairy education in 2007. I am concearned with the dark, macabre, sombre and melencholy as a centeral theme to my work. Ever since i was a child I had a vivid imagination and was known to be a daydreamer even up to today whenre i lock my keys in my car because of it. I was once told that the human brain has two halves, the left if for cognative function and serves as the positive side of the brain and the other is the right side, which is the creative yet negative side of the brain, to which i dwell for a vast majority of my time. In saying this I should like to point out that I do not carry myself as a morbidly depressed husk, rather I have developed a somewhat cynical view on the world around us. These views and attitudes are carried over into my work from questioning the validity and worth of the Holy Bible in a controversial image depicting the Bible on toilet paper, to a beautiful portait of a nude woman baring scars across her torso, I am drawn to the aesthetic and the decaying and manage to find a beauty in both.



As I mature in age now 22 and as my skills in my profession grow I shall only endevour to continue developing this train of thought and produce images more beautiful or more controversial than the last. Photography is my love, but expression and observation of the world around us is my passion. In essence, I see myself as sitting on the outside of society looking in, expressing my views and making everybody else feel uncomfortable.
